Your mission

You will work on the development and test of a microfluidic platform for the characterization of nanomaterials.
Possible applications include a multi-channel system for testing of nanomaterials for their reactivity or new methods for nanoparticle size fractionation. Your task will include:
Characterization of the current fluidic setup
Determine critical parameters and key component of the new device
Design and construction of updated fluidic setup
Testing and characterization of the new prototype setup
Dissemination (publication or poster) and report of your results using international platforms.
Your profile

Bachelor/Master degree in microtechnology, nanotechnology, physics, materials science, system engineering or similar
Ideally background in microfluidics
Interested in analytical methods and system development
Interested in multidisciplinary, applied projects
Enthusiastic, self-driven, autonomous and team player
Good written and spoken English
Excellent communication and networking skills.

The individual ESR projects are designed to provide appropriate research goals for PhD students, which will result in the completion of a research thesis, publications and in the dissemination of the scientific results at international conferences.

Each of the 15 ESRs will be exposed to a well-balanced and optimal experience in academia, industry and research centre in order to increase their research experience and scientific maturity. They will also gain broader experience from spending time in Partner research labs, experiencing different research environments and cultures, and producing well-rounded ‘European’ scientists. Their training will be undertaken in some of the world`s key laboratories for polymer research and in innovative European companies.
