The Association of the Chemical Industry of the Czech Republic and the Steel Union invite you to an extraordinary international event organized as part of the Czech Presidency of the EU Council on the topic “Decarbonization of energy-intensive industries”, which will be held in Prague on 10-11 November 2022 at the STAGES Hotel. The Minister of Industry and Trade, the Minister of the Environment, the Minister for Science, Research and Innovation, the Minister for European Affairs and the President of the Czech Academy of Sciences have also promised to attend the conference.
“The conference is aimed at all those interested in information on the current legislative framework for decarbonisation and possible solutions to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. The issue of decarbonisation of energy-intensive industries is very topical and important for the Czech Republic, given the fact that the Czech Republic is one of the most energy-intensive economies in the EU due to its industrial structure. I believe that the conference will provide an opportunity to shed light on a number of problems, as well as possible solutions, affecting our industries.
The conference will include discussions and presentations on a wide range of legislative, environmental, technological, research and development aspects of decarbonisation, including the challenges facing EU industries, particularly in meeting the 2015 Paris Agreement targets,” said Ing. Ivan Souček, Ph.D., Director of the Confederation of the Chemical Industry of the Czech Republic.
The conference will bring together prominent Czech and European policymakers, industry representatives and experts to discuss the right policy framework for decarbonisation with respect to existing solutions and technologies as well as future innovations for GHG recycling, feasible and sustainable options for decarbonisation, to inspire all those involved in various aspects of the green transformation, and to showcase the possibilities of using CO2 and other GHGs as feedstock for chemical and other industrial applications.
The conference is particularly aimed at representatives of energy intensive companies, those involved in decarbonisation and CCU (carbon capture and utilisation) technologies, those interested in information on the current legislative framework for decarbonisation and possible solutions to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
Due to the overhead costs of hosting the conference, we cannot offer free participation, but a discount code can be applied for SCHP CR members to take advantage of the 50% discount on registration: ‘DE50CA20’.
It is very important to us that the conference is attended by the “right” participants, which certainly includes our members.
If you are interested in presenting on Day 2 of the conference, there is still an opportunity to submit an abstract (as soon as possible). The talk would then be included in the program or allowed to be presented as a poster during the conference.

We look forward to meeting you.
